March 18th: “The Top Legal Things Every Search and Staffing Firm Needs to Know” Laura Friedel, an attorney with Levenfeld Pearlstein LLC, will present this informative and interesting session on legal issues for the staffing and search business. Topics will include: The cost is only $29 for members and $49 for non-members. You can not afford to miss this session. April 20th, 12:00 - 12:45pm: Webinar “Employee Engagement: Strategies to shift your employees from Autopilot to Engaged!” This is a fantastic and interactive workshop designed for anyone who is responsible for employment service, but specifically geared towards the special circumstances that staffing firms often have. The event will be kicked off with ISSA board members sharing the current state of the Illinois and Federal Unemployment funds and how the “great recession” might impact your margins in the next 12-24 months. The Illinois Department of Employment Services will explore the unemployment claims process, how to contest a claim and provide a mock adjudication. Both managers and employees involved in the unemployment claims process will find this session very beneficial. The event will include an early morning registration with a continental breakfast at the Careerbuilder Headquarters in downtown Chicago. The cost is only $49 for members and $69 for non-members. July date TBD: Legislative Breakfast The ISSA board is working to bring in members of the state legislature and a lobbyist for the staffing and search industry together for a breakfast this summer. Learn about the bills that could impact you and what is being done in Springfield to protect our industry. Stay tuned for more details as we pull this important event together. September 16: ISSA Fall Conference - /Danny Cahill!! Plan on joining the ISSA board and Danny Cahill as we hold our premiere full day event of the year. November 10th: State of the Staffing and Search Industry ISSA and Careerbuilder will share timely and interesting information regarding the current state of the staffing and search industry.
